pet preeves

Closed-minded is one of my several pet peeves of mine.

I couldn't believe when I found out thru my college of office of disablity that I have to request from audiologist about my needs such as notetaker and interpreter and etc. So I contact my audiologist's desk service and request thru the relay. Few days later, I open the letter and it said I only need to sit close-by with professor. Interpreter was not needed. Ugh! What part of deaf that you don't understand?? Just because I'm wearing hearing aids doesn't mean I don't need interpreter. I mean, I had interpreter during mainstream and etc.

So I called again and I told I do need interpreter and notetaker. The desk service told me they did send letter. I respond. The letter mention I don't need interpreter but I do need one.

Second letter said the same thing that I don't need interpreter. Ugh! I do NEED interpreter!!! I just don't want to drive there to waste my gas. That's why I called instead. Look like I have no choice, now. I have to find time to drive there next week. I'm free Monday and Tuesday... Just hope my work didn't contact me in last minutes. I hate when that happen espeically when I'm in the middle of errands. Normally I wld say no. But depend on certain sitiuation like I do need the money. However I don't need the money for time being so I'm able to say no.
One nicest thing is, I can say yes or no whatever I feel like it.

I should look at bright side more often, huh?

Well, like I said, look like I have to drive and waste my gas to audiologist's place and request again that I REALLY do need interpreter if they refuse then I'm going to have to ask "why?" Because this is stupid!
My lunch break is nearly up.

Snakes!

Yep, this is about snakes...

Other day, I walked Reese in the park. I usually walked on grass to give Reese a chance to "get rid of waste". Suddenly, I saw a snake! I walked backward. Then I realize it was green snake. It is non-poinsious(sp). Of course, if it is poious(sp) snake the it wld be too late. It would have bitten Reese and me because Reese had already walk by it and never notice. Fact is the snake was froze. He/she didn't move at all. My first react is snake before I notice the color.

There's another time when mom and I driving the car and mom spotted a snake. I also took a look. It does have black/yellow. Looks almost like black diamond snake known as rattle snake but I look at it tail, it does not have rattle. So I dunno if it is poisous or non-poisious snake.

Couple days ago, there was very heavy rain and I notice the tail nearby at the back poach then I thought, it can't be lizard since I usally spotted 4 different lizards in our backyard. So I moved the chair then I spotted a small and thin brown snake. It is thin like a pencial and less than 12 inches. Maybe up to 6 inches. The snake slithering thru the crack. I was surprised it is in the house. I'm not talk about large crack. It is so tiny enough just for an ant to go in, not a snake with the size of penical. I couldn't believe it. When mom told my dad and dad said, "it went that crack?!?" My dad couldn't believe either. It does seem impossible but it turn out it is possible.

It is really amazing. I just hope I didn't get bit by poioious snake. *knock on wood*

Most of all I just hope that no one did got bitten by it, too.

Tea @ Tiffany's

There's a women's club event found thru magazine. It is called Tea for Tiffany's. There are women do wear hats. Also, I did call for reservation and request for dress code (to make sure) and mentio just Sunday dress. So I figure you will be all nice dress up dor church or Easter-like. So mom bought herself black/white dress with red necklace and shoes. She also have white thin satin hat. The hat looks so much like 50's. I have light blue/green dress with brown swirl. It looks like comteoney(sp). I picked out brown/gold hat with big flower. It looks like 20's hat.

Mom looks like 50's and I look like 20's. We went to that women's club. There are several women both young and old. Mostly wear hats but few doesn't.

Everybody wearing dresses and hats. A lot looks good and some not look that good. One woman had a dress that almost same as mine but her is brown with creme swirl.

There are a lot of people comments of my hat and outfit. It is same for my mom. One woman came up to me and said that I look perfect with hat and dress overall. I just smiled and said thanks. They seems friendly. My mom and I sat down. Most people actually did approach us and introduce themselves to us. There are too many names to remember.

Finally, everybody sitting down and there's a short lecture. Then one woman at each table volunteer to fill up the tea in tea pots. All are sliver tea sets with different designs. People loan their own sets for using that party. I added milk and sugar in tea. It had certain flavor. I don't know what it is but it tasted good.

One by one with a group of table go to gather mini-foods. Finally our group is next, I got cumumber sandwich, egg salad sandwich, dunno what kind sandwich, chocolate moouse, strawberry cheesecake, and scone that has cimmions and walnut. Remember, they are mini... And I do mean small. They all are good. Espeically dessert, that chocolate moouse does melt into ur mouth. It same with strawberry cheesecake, better than Cheesecake Factory resturant. Those does taste wonderful.

I look at my mom and said, "happy birthday." We chatting for a while and chatting to people next to us. After we are done, there's more lecture. Mention about donations and total prices and etc. Also, there's a prize for best look-alike Aurbry Herpburn(sp, one of the actress). Also, I won first place for best hat. I got Tea Time Cards. It has blank inside but show recipes for tea thing in back of the card.

All in all, I'm having fun and so did my mom. We left but we also stop at the park. I have camera. Mom and I were taking turns with pix in the gardens and gazbo and swing. There's Lilies Pond. It is beautiful. Oh, there's water fountain, too. We also taking turns pix. Finally, we also go for LongHorn cows statute and couple of calves statue. It has different colors and designs. We were having fun, too!

one more thing...

I almost forgot to mention. I got msg from John. It is short and simple. His words "Good morning. I hope all is well with you and hope you are doing great. We are doing good and very busy these days now. T'care"

He send it to me on Mar 7th early morning. In fact, he's morning person. He is not night person. Of course, I haven't replied. I think I mention before, I'm consider to change my pager's address. Mmmm I may wait alittle longer, if he send again, I will change it. I can call 800-number to change it if I want to. I just rather not change, it make my parent wonder why I do that. Unless I come up a new exuse for it. I just don't like making up a new story espeically it is none of their business.

I wasn't expect him still keeping in touch but then again he can be presentist(sp, means wouldn't give up), sometimes.

Possible Conclusion

Well, I'm not sure if I did mention this earlier since I've been mention my friends and family so it is hard to keep up who or which one I haven't been told and who I have already been told.

Also, I didn't check my blog lately to see which should I update or not.

Obvious, this month is busy for me by paying bills and preparing for Mother's Day and her birthday.

Now about my possible conclusion, I've been thinking about going ahead and graduate. So I've already check out community college. I've been checking out Fall classes; however, I may postpone until Spring. I found out that my parent may go to Colorado this Aug and Sept. It will be full 2 months.

Well, that give me alittle bit more time to assurance to know this is the right path for me to go. Plus I only visit as in undergraduate college but not graduate student. (Yes, I have thinking about go for master degree.) So I would feel better by visiting one more time as for graduate visitiation since I still have more questions to ask.

I've been considering to major in biotechnology in master degree. So that's why I feel if I go ahead and graduate I would feel like rush into things without visiting first espeically I still have more questions.

I know I can go ahead and take classes in the Fall and stay home alone for 2 months. It doesn't bother me. However, I prefer to visit one more time to make sure I know this is where I'm really going.

Granted, I could go and visit this summer but my parent and I can't since the bills will increase worst during summer and also gas prices had gone up, too. It isn't good time. If I could afford, I would go but I can not. Neither does my parent.

Rodeo

First time, I went and watch live in the audience. Those cowboys had been joining for contest of riding bulls and hope to last 8 seconds. None of them succeed. However, two where injuries. One man couldn't move his legs nor his feet. It seems like paralized. Other man had hit in the head while his body was twisted. It looks so painful. However, he barely can walk but at least his legs were able to move.

I prefer a roping to the calves and horses run around the barrels in circle. I enjoy those best. During in between, there's kids from 8 to 12 come down while they try capture calf. Later, 8 below try capture two young sheeps. One little boy came up to a man with open arms. That must be his daddy. He picked him up with a hug. I think that is sooo cute.

Next was age 16 and up for women, I refuse to go. There was about 7 women who brave enough to go down. The man who talk thru mircophone asked these women if they had any idea about this. They said, "no." I lean over and told mom I bet they are going to do the dance. I was right. There is competition who make best dance by make up their own. They dance same dance. So they had to do blindfold. Again, the man told them to do the dance. The two clowns(who respoible for driving bulls and wild horses away) came one by one by taking blindfold away and send them by the fence but one woman who still standing in middle with blindfold. The music stop. The man said that they are in tied and must dance again. Poor one woman dance with her might with different moves. The music stop. The man told "them" to take blindfold. This one woman who did and she was shocked that she's the only one who did that. In fact, her face was red. The audience laughed. I actually felt sorry for her. But truth is, it is so funny.

Last, they did another wild horse ride and bull ride.

It was interesting. Plus there was fesitival around with lots of goodies and history. It will happen again in Oct, Dec, and March. That is a good thing because it was soo hot today with 90 degree. We only stay out for short time. So, we plan to come down again this Oct that way we would be able to enjoy in nice weather.

I took some pictures. People were wearing civil war outfits, the yankees and rebals outfits. There are some wear cowboy outfits and indians. There was short skits outside. There were camels. In fact, they did had 75 camels in early 1800's for Texas, AZ, and Califorina. They plan to continue however they had to stop due to focus on civil war. It shows some history here in Texas that I didn't know about. It is interesting.

Oh, my parent and I stop one of steakhouse and it was delious!!! It cooked under hickory woods. Yummy ribeye steak that I order and it is expensive so I decided to pay my own instead of depend on my parent. Plus, I had the money leftover since I manage to paid off this month.... Yes, month of May. After I've postpone twice and didn't say a word to my parent about it. Now, I have to start preparing and save again for June to pay the bill. Something not to look forward to but I got to since I do not want my interest rate to go up for not paying my bills.

However, I think I can manage to pay for June, also.

Meantime, since I'm working on Mother's Day, so I decided to give a surprise gift that I have been holding on since Feb. Yes, after Xmas sale for 75% off. It also had 10 KT gold. I was so hoping that mom like it. I was anxious to give it to her and I did. My mom did love it and surprised also. I was glad! In fact, she was wearing it all day, today. It match her outfit perfectly.

I'm looking forward for tea party this coming week for her birthday. Mom and I did made reservation for it. We will be wearing a dress and a hat. Yes, hat is acceptable and most women did wear hats to the tea. That sound like fun! However, I haven't buy anything for my mom's birthday. Well, I did bought her purse to go with her dress however, she was there that time. I had to make sure if she likes it and looks ok with dress because sometimes it is hard for me to tell weather or not it look good with outfit or is it too causual or too formal and not just right kind of purse for outfit. I want something that surprised her unexpected like I did today. So I'm hoping there is after Mother's sale for her birthday and make sure that it is within my budget limit.

Beginner's luck

When first time being introduce of "how's to play poker?" I've won several times. Haha. When mom look at my cards, then mom look at me and said, "you got to be kidding me!" What she meant is that I have a good hands or high score of chance to get win. Lol. I thought that was kewl!

Dad seems to enjoy that game cuz he been saying one more times several times before he goes to bed. He usually go to bed by 9pm but ended up at 10pm.

Well, speaking of bed, I better go. Good nite!

white pieces...

Earlier today, I spotted something in my hair then I look closely.... I saw several different white string mix with my red hair. OY! I couldn't believe that I'm having white hair... No wonder why I started to feel old. Well, thank goodness it isn't obvious.... Yet...

Personally, I just getting tried of changing different schedules and contact in last minutes for work. I prefer stick with same pattern to make it whole lot eaiser. I'm just not getting any younger to toldence working differnt time schedule. Even though a lot people still assume that I'm under 18 yrs old. That's might be why that they think I can toledolce(sp) because I'm young... Which my appearce looks so young and I'm not.

I haven't hear from VR in whole week so I did email my VR recently. I hope to hear by Monday, if not by end of the week, I will contact VR again on Saturday. I tends to wait for on week then email every Saturday, if I didn't hear by Friday. So, yes, I give 5 days chance.

About the neighbor, the abusive man did had a chat with my dad. He said that this man is planning to sell a house and rebuild a new house where he and his wife and children move in together. If that is true, then the court have no choice to take children away. However, mom and I were hoping that he just "big talk" but really behind the story isn't true... They sell house and split profit and go seprate way.

I dunno... Wait and see about that one.

All I know is that he's still living with them and they haven't start sell the house, yet. I wonder how long wld it last? Espeically, do they have deadline?

Anyway, overall, we are doing ok. Animals are doing good. Oreo is still good since surgery. He enjoys being outside.

Reese still loves going to park. Everytime when she's really exciting she sounds like a monkey "hoo-hoo-hoo" in a whiney kind of way. She's still sweet as ever.

Tom-Tom is still a grumpy old cat. Should name him Grumpy from that Snow White and 7 dwarves. That's a perfect name for him. However, he's doing ok and still likes to have attention.

Seen Golden Compass

Yep, it is a movie that I saw recently. I was at confuse. So I decided to watch second time, I finally understood. I read somewhere that people did got confuse. At least I'm not the only one. However, they didn't mention abt watching second time. I understood better after I watch 2nd time. The movie was ok. It kinda dragging on. I feel like wanna to say get to the point will ya?

Personally, I prefer Lord of the Rings, Neverending Story, Bridge Tereabethia(sp), and couple others are best so far.

Also, I heard that there's a story actually written by anthist(sp) or anti-christianity or anti-catholic. However, the movie completely change around to satified to Christianity people. It is nothing like the book itself. So I dunno if that is true. As far I see the movie, I don't see anything relate to it. Plus, I haven't read the book.

I also watched Harry Potter movies; however, I have not read that book, either.

Well, I better go and get some sleep. Good nite.
