Old Habit, Die Hard

(Hey Jennifer, that's funny that you mention, cause I just thought of it today.) Speaking of old habit, die hard... Man! I was thinking overall for last several years... Yes, several years of trying to improve myself such as trying to stay organize but ended up relaspe. I try again... No luck. My question is "how in the world do you continue and stay that way??" How in the world to prevent of going back to the old way? I admit that my cleaning habit is still not that great... but it's better than before, that's for sure... But still, how do you do that?

Same with any other bad habits... according to my mom said, "change your lifestyle so you can change your old habit to new habit." She always make that impression.

It didn't acoss my mind until now.

Mom did told me that when she was once a "chain-smoker" she smokes 5 packs a day... talk about a heavy smoker.

She had her asthama attack and the doctor said that there's nothing they can do to help her. Only thing that she can do is to quit smoking. Boy! Talk about "cold turkey" everytime I approach my mom she just "blew-up" with frastruated. She said that she always smoke when she drink coffee. She goes to bed late and smoke.

Just a few examples, since mom have to quit smoking, that means she can't drink coffee. She goes to bed early instead of later. Everytime she wake up and start smokeing. Instead, she have to get up and do her errands instead of staying in bed smoking. So, changing your habit have to be changing lifestyle. I knew that would not be easy to do such thing like that.

Again, I ask myself, how in the world do I change my lifestyle? I realize, it's best for me to live by myself and able to focus on my goal. I notice my goal get sidetrack because I'm being distracted with a lot of things when I'm on my own. I don't get a lot of distracted and I'm able to focus on my goal better.

Again, I do know that is just an exuse. So,..... I still have no answer...

Only answer I can think of is determine... If ya truly want to change the old habit ... you have to be determine. That's the only thing I can think of.

I better go and do my errands before it's getting too late.

Your mom definitely had the courage and determination to quit smoking. That's huge step. I agree with you about being determined in order to change for better. Also, I think it is important to consider choices we make before we decide to this. Like, for example, with food, we can decide to eat moderately or way too much. Basically, we are responsible for choices we make in life. Not easy, I know, but as long as we are trying, I think that's important to remember that. And also we learn from our mistakes, and change for better. I am glad you also brought up this topic! :-)
